Chapter 25

Somewhere in the State of Michigan, U.S.A.

You see a park. The grass is green, the tree's are rustling in the light wind. There are several people out enjoying themselves, walking, jogging, or getting an Ice Cream from the Ice Cream stand. We now focus on a small park bench, where we see a Tall Black cat sitting. He's got on just a plain white T-shirt, and blue jeans along with light tan work boots. He's got a pair of sunglasses on, and a tooth pick in his mouth. He's looking towards a small playground, where several small children of different species are playing. Swinging on the swings, going down the slide, or just running around aimlessly. One small kitten, tan with green eyes and wearing a small white dress is on the swing set. She waves her little arm towards the black cat, and in return he smiles and waves back. Then the cat's cell phone starts ringing. He reaches for it from his pocket and answers it.

"'Yello?" the black cat says, removing the toothpick.

"Hey Dominick? Its Rodger." The voice on the phone says.

"Hey there Rodger my man, whats going on?"

"Well, a lot all of a sudden. We found him."

The black cat grins.

"Good, did you nab him or whack him?"

"Well, neither. He got away, killed Thomas."

"Oh, what a shame, he was one of my best."

"I'm sorry sir, but we do have other good news. We found where he's staying. He's with his brother and some other female. I got their address and everything."

"Good good, how about you meet me at the house today? I'll be home in a little while."

"Um, well I was going to ask who you wanted to handle him this time?"

Dominick chuckles. "Well, this has gone on for far too long, so I guess I am going to."

"Um, you sir? Are you sure?"

"Positive. Now, you best be there when I get home."

"Um, yes sir. I'll head over now. See you in a short."

With that, Dominick hangs up the phone and places it back in his pocket. He stands up, and motions his arm towards him. The little tan kitten stops the swing, and rushes over. She hugs his left leg, and he smiles. He reaches down and picks her up, placing her on his shoulders with her legs dangling on each side of his head.

"Are we going home now daddy?" The little kitten asks.

Dominick removes his sunglasses, reviling golden eyes.

"Why yes we are, to see what mommy's up to." Dominick answers, and continues walking out of the park.

Back to Leo, Alex and Aeris, we focus back onto the apartment. Its around 4 p.m, and Alex has just been sitting on the floor, next to the door for almost two hours now. He doesn't move, just sits there. He had stopped crying about an hour ago. He needed that, he hasn't been able to cry in a long time. Finally he decides he's ok enough to go back into the apartment. He stands up, wiping the remnants of tears off his face, and is about to open the door when Leo suddenly opens from the inside before Alex.

"Oh, there you are. We were wondering what happened to you?" Leo asks.

"Oh, yea. Just talking to my lawyer about things, sorry." Alex replies, walking into the apartment.

Suddenly Alex starts feeling light headed. He knows whats happening, and rushes over to the couch.

"Hey Alex, is everything alright?" Leo asks, following Alex.

Alex staggers to the couch, passing Aeris who was sitting at the one end.

"Alex? Are you alright?" Aeris asks, seeing him fighting to walk.

Alex plops onto the opposite end of the couch from Aeris, and reaches for a small black sack. He opens it, and three different pill bottles fall out. He quickly picks them up, and frantically tries to read the labels, looking for one specificity. But he can't read them, his vision is starting to blur.

"Damn it, I knew I forgot to do something this morning." Alex says, trying to shake his head around to focus.

"Alex, whats going on?" Leo asks, rushing over.

"I need my damn pills, that's whats going on." Alex says, sounding annoyed.

"Which one?"

"It should say 'Blood' on it, along with other mambo jumbo." Alex says, leaning back.

Leo quickly checks the labels. He finds one with something on it about "Blood" on it, and takes a pill out. Alex then opens his mouth.

"Just drop it in. I'll swallow it." Alex says.

Without hesitating, Leo drops the pill into Alex's mouth. Alex make a lout "gulp" sound as he swallows the pill.

"Sorry about this guys, I forgot to take it this morning."

"What is it?" Leo asks.

Alex tries to think of something, but his head is so cloudy he's not sure what to say.

"Its my, um..." Alex starts. Then he looks down at the bandage on his right fore arm. "My pain meds, for my injuries."

"Oh, um ok." Leo says, unsure what to make of it.

Leo is about to examine the bottle when Alex snatches it out of his paws. He places it, along with the other two bottles, back into the black sack and places it into one of his boxes.

"Are you sure everything is ok?" Aeris asks, worrying.

"Yea, I'm fine." Alex replies, resting his head back once again.

"Well, its just we kinda heard you shouting in the hall. We weren't listening to what you were saying, but you sounded upset." Aeris says.

Alex sighs. "Its just more legal bullshit with Samantha, that's all." Alex says, looking at the T.V, seeing they were playing a game. "You guys can go ahead and keep playing, it won't bother me. This pill should take some effect here shortly."

With that, Leo sits back down, now between Alex and Aeris. Neither Leo nor Aeris made any moves towards each other, now that Alex was beside them. They continue their game, and finish with the "The survivors have escaped" caption appearing on the T.V. Aeris lets out a cheerful yowl, as she stretches after sitting for so long. She looks at the clock, it reads 5:30.

"Man, I can't believe it took us so long to do that stupid campaign." Aeris says, standing up.

"Well what do you expect, we were playing on Expert." Leo says, he too standing to stretch.

"I gotta say, some of that didn't seem very logical to me, but still looked like an awesome game." Alex says, still sitting on the couch.

"Its a video game, what part of that is logical?" Leo asks, walking to the kitchen. "Hey either of you want something to drink?"

"I'll take a Dew!" Aeris shouts.

"Well since you got no beer, I'll just have a water." Alex shouts in disgust.

"Well, Leo can't drink. He may be old enough, but he's still stupid. Alcohol makes it even worse." Aeris says, smiling.

"I could imagine." Alex says, he too smiling.

Leo walks back with a couple cans of Mountain Dew, and a glass of water. Aeris grabs one out of Leo's paw, and goes to open it.

"Wait Aeris, don't-" Leo starts.

But its too late, as she opens it the can explodes all over the place, sending Mountain Dew everywhere. By the time the fountain has stopped, all three cats are soaked in sticky pop. Aeris looks up at Leo, who is still standing there.

"I tried to tell you." Leo musters out, before licking his around his mouth, the fur covered in Dew. "I dropped it, so I was going to drink it after it settled."

Leo and Alex both expected the worse from Aeris, but instead of getting mad, she started laughing.

"Great, we finally broke her." Alex says, standing up.

Leo looks at Alex, who is also soaked. He too starts laughing, and so he's not the odd cat out, Alex joins in the laughter. After a few minutes, the laughter dies down.

"Well, we better all get a shower here soon, otherwise this won't be funny." Alex says. "Aeris, you go ahead and get one first. Then you can Leo and I'll go last, since I gotta scrounge up some bandaging material for my arm and shoulder."

Aeris nods, and walks in her room to grab some cloths, and quickly rushes into the bathroom.

"Hey Leo, how about you go get some towels so we can start drying off the couch?" Alex asks, looking at the soaking couch.

Leo nods, and walks into towards the bathroom. Alex looks up just as Leo goes to open the door. Alex tries to say something, but its too late. Leo opens the door and is shocked to find a almost naked Aeris standing in the middle of the bathroom. She's got a pair of pink panties still on, but facing away from Leo. That doesn't stop him from getting a glimpse of her breasts, since Aeris and Leo were both facing the Mirror. Leo blushes immensely, before Aeris notices.

With a scream, and covering herself with one arm, she grabs the closest thing to her, a toilet plunger,and throws it at Leo. He manages to catch it with his face, the suction cup covering his entire face. Leo backs up, as Aeris slams the door. Leo staggers, unable to remove the plunger from his face. All Alex can do is let out a small chuckle, and walk over to Leo and help him. He grabs the handle with one paw, and places the other on Leo's forehead and yanks hard, ripping the plunger off Leo's face. Alex can see Leo is still blushing, and he knows why.

"Well I hope you got a good look there bro, because I guarantee when she comes out of that bathroom, your gonna be one dead kitty." Alex says, with a chuckle again.
